Our Story
SIMONICA is a family-run Georgian winery based in Imereti, founded in 2008 by Nugzar and Mamuka Chkheidze. Today, the winery is managed by Nini Chkheidze, the third generation, combining traditional Qvevri winemaking with formal education and international experience.
The Chkheidze family cultivates 2 hectares of vineyards in Obcha, planted with Tsitska, Tsolikouri, Krakhuna, and Otskhanuri Sapere, as well as 2 hectares of rare indigenous varieties in Samegrelo, including Megruli Ojaleshi, Egudzguri, and Chvitiluri.
From classic Imeretian grapes to rare Megrelian varieties, SIMONICA produces a focused range of natural wines — white, rosé, red, and naturally sparkling — with minimal intervention and strong respect for nature, tradition, terroir and biodiversity.
SIMONICA has been a member of the Natural Wine Association of Georgia since 2017.
